About me

Builder, designer, teacher, tech advocate.

I’m Festus, a co-founder of Nerds IV Technologies, an independent product studio in Ho, Ghana, that builds software Ghana actually uses. Our products cover school management, secure e-voting, AI customer service, education data and verified rentals. I work across product strategy, engineering and design, and I spend the rest of my time teaching, advocating for tech in education, and writing poetry and short stories as Elikem Inspires.

I believe the best digital products are built close to the people who use them. That’s why I care about offline-first engineering, honest design and teaching: more people building means better tools for everyone.

Based in Batsona, Spintex Road, Accra, Ghana

01.

I had access

I didn’t fall in love with tech by accident. I was allowed to explore, and a few people made sure I could.

What starts as play becomes skill. Curiosity turns into competence. And over time, competence drives innovation. That’s how societies grow.

  1. Allowed to explore

My mum never stopped me from using her phone, and that made a difference. Where I wasn’t allowed, curiosity pushed me anyway.

  2. My first laptop moment

I touched a laptop for the first time. It belonged to Rev. Father Dagadu Eric, who noticed me and encouraged me in small ways. That moment stayed with me.

  3. Folders, drag and drop, hooked

Front Line Internet Café, near the Hohoe Post Office, enrolled students in computer lessons and my mum paid without hesitation. From then on I spent whatever money I had at the café, thirty minutes at a time.

  4. Building and teaching

Co-founder at Nerds IV Technologies, founder of PagezTech Ventures, and building CodeNest so more young people get the exposure I had, on purpose.

How I work

A practical path from an unclear challenge to a useful product.

  1. Start with the lived problem

Talk to the people closest to the work, map constraints and agree on what success should mean.

  2. Turn ambiguity into direction

Shape the product story, priorities and smallest useful version before investing in production.

  3. Design and engineer together

Prototype the experience, pressure-test the system and build with accessibility and performance in mind.

  4. Ship, observe and improve

Use real feedback to refine the product and document the decisions that matter.
